Suicide Prevention & Awareness 5K

About Our 5K Event

Sponsored by the Margaret Mary Health Foundation, this non-competitive event is designed for walkers and runners of all ages and abilities. All proceeds benefit the Health Foundation's Addiction Services & Behavioral Health Fund.

Honor Beads

Losing someone to suicide or struggling with a mental illness can feel like no one understands what you are going through. It's our hope the Stop the Stigma 5K allows those in our community to acknowledge the ways suicide and mental illness have affected both our lives and our loved ones.

During the event, we ask all participants to wear honor beads - each color representing our personal connection to the cause and helping us to identify others who understand our experience. When you register below, please be sure to select your appropriate color.

  • Purple: Loss of a relative or friend
  • Red: Loss of a spouse or partner
  • Orange: Loss of a sibling
  • White: Loss of a child
  • Green: Survivor
  • Blue: I support the cause
Yard Signs

Yard signs in honor or in memory of a loved one are available for purchase and will be displayed during the month of September along the Margaret Mary Health walking trail. Please e-mail the photo you would like to use on the yard sign to Kasi Christin by Tuesday, September 3.
