Drink Responsibly

Big plans this weekend? Summertime is often known for its weddings, festivals and celebrations. If you plan on drinking alcohol, be sure to do so responsibly. Consider these tips:

1. Set limits: Determine how many drinks you will have before you start drinking and stick to that number.

2. Pace yourself: Sip your drink slowly and take breaks between drinks to give your body time to process the alcohol.

3. Eat before and while drinking: Having a meal or snacks can help slow down the absorption of alcohol into your bloodstream.

4. Stay hydrated: Drink water in between alcoholic drinks to stay hydrated and reduce the effects of alcohol.

5. Avoid binge drinking: Binge drinking, which is consuming a large amount of alcohol in a short period, can be dangerous.

6. Don’t drink and drive: Never drive under the influence of alcohol. Always have a designated driver.

7. Know your limits: Understand your tolerance for alcohol and know when to stop. Everyone’s tolerance is different, so listen to your body.

8. Be aware of medication interactions: Some medications can have adverse effects when combined with alcohol. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you’re unsure.
