This January, Margaret Mary Health is excited to welcome Dr. Ed Negovetich to our medical staff. As a physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) specialist, Dr. Negovetich uses a non-surgical approach to treat conditions that cause pain or limit function. Examples include sports injuries, concussions, arthritis and spine, joint, muscle and nerve pain.
“I really enjoy the diagnostic challenges of working in my field,” said Dr. Negovetich. “I’ve always liked puzzles and problem solving. By examining patients and reviewing their imaging results, I do my best to identify which problems are causing symptoms.”
With more than 15 years of experience, he is committed to helping patients regain strength, mobility and independence so they can ultimately enhance their quality of life. This is done using non-surgical treatments, such as physical therapy, medication management and injections.
A resident of Oldenburg, Dr. Negovetich enjoys living in the same community where he practices medicine because it gives him a chance to build more meaningful relationships with patients.
“In order to achieve the best clinical results, it’s important to develop a rapport with patients,” said Dr. Negovetich. “By living in this community, I’m intimately familiar with local customs and events. When patients see me outside the office, I hope they find me to be relatable and approachable.”
As part of MMH’s medical staff, Dr. Negovetich also works closely with other healthcare professionals, including orthopaedic surgeons, podiatrists, primary care providers and physical/occupational therapists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
“I’m ecstatic to be joining a team where I can collaborate with other musculoskeletal specialists,” said Dr. Negovetich. “The nature of my training fosters that of a team-like approach to managing challenging patient cases, and I look forward to working in partnership with my colleagues.”
Dr. Negovetich and his wife, Aimee, have three children. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports, golfing, swimming, playing basketball, taking his dog out in the woods and spending time with family.
He sees patients at Margaret Mary’s Rehab Center located on State Road 129 in Batesville. To schedule an appointment, call 812.934.6638.
