The DAISY Award

Honoring Extraordinary Nurses. Our team members exemplify this experience each day and we're committed to recognizing and celebrating the amazing work they do. Please help us acknowledge their hard work, dedication and person-centered care by nominating your nurse for The DAISY Award.

The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem) Award was established by The DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at the age of 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created this national award to say thank you to nurses everywhere.

DAISY Award Criteria

  • Passion for nursing and their patients is evident in the care they provide each day
  • Puts the patient first in all encounters and consistently contributes to delivery of world-class patient care
  • Collaborates with others across all areas to provide excellent patient care and service delivery while keeping the patient at the center
  • Shares and provides relevant, timely and accurate information, and communicates with clarity and courtesy
  • Fosters an environment which encourages respect, integrity, fairness and diversity
  • Recognizes others for their contributions to Margaret Mary Health

The BEE Award

Bringing Excellence Every Day. Everyone in health care plays an essential role in patient care, even if they don't spend their time on the front line. Our team members pool their knowledge and experience to work as a team and create a culture of mutual support and trust.

The BEE Award was established to recognize the tremendous contribution of our non-nursing team members whose support greatly impacts patient care and quality of outcomes. Such individuals stand out among their peers not only for the successfully execution of their work assignments, but also because of their dedication, creativity and actions toward improving the atmosphere we all work in and increasing the welfare of patients and fellow team members.

BEE Award Criteria

  • Regularly collaborates with other departments in the cross-functional team and contributes ideas to ensure an optimal patient approach
  • Communicates clearly and effectively to promote positive relationships
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach and caring attitude
  • Fosters an environment which encourages respect, integrity, fairness and diversity
  • Recognizes others for their contributions to Margaret Mary Health
