A cancer diagnosis is never easy. But for Osgood resident, LuAnn Peters, the journey was made bearable thanks to her faith, family and Margaret Mary’s Cancer Center. After being diagnosed with breast cancer this past July, the 62-year-old received three months of chemo, followed by a single mastectomy and 25 rounds of radiation therapy. Today, LuAnn is doing well and feels grateful for the support she received during her cancer journey.

“I appreciated that I didn’t have to drive far for cancer treatment, but what impressed me most was the quality of care,” said LuAnn. “Every time I walked in, the staff made me feel like I was their No. 1 priority. They treated much more than my cancer. A nutritionist talked to me about how I was eating. A massage therapist gave me massages and talked about stress. I give credit where credit is due. The staff did an incredible job. When you’re treated with compassion and kindness, it makes a difference.”
